Two Cities One Lens
New York and Paris exist in layers. Light reflects through the windows, and strangers pass by without meeting or noticing me. The practice of seeing, the flâneur lifestyle. This project traces the street photographer as wanderer: moving through New York's familiar chaos and Paris's slower, older, more intentional setting. Through layered exposures, two cities begin to overlap and reflect back a hidden world. The story is not about either city as it is, but about the space between them: the photographer who carries one city into another, looking for what connects them beneath the surface.

The VR gallery allows this experience to be communicated more fully. Instead of viewing these images on a 2D site, the space lets the user enter a virtual environment where they can move through a gallery as the images are presented. In much the same way the photographer moves through the city—wandering, pausing, looking—the viewer can move freely through the space. The environment also creates an atmosphere similar to what the photographer experiences while creating the images. From the music to the overall tone of the space, the viewer is able to experience a complete aesthetic moment. This VR experience places the viewer inside the same atmosphere the photographer felt while creating.
